MEMBER-AT-LARGE
Position Summary:
The Member-at-Large
serves as a general member of the Chapter leadership. The Member-at-Large
supports the Chapter President and fellow chapter members by tracking RSVPs for
chapter meetings, completing special or one-time only projects and assisting
with the duties of other board members.
Responsible To:
The members of the chapter
The chapter Board of Directors
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary
contact for RSVPs for all chapter events, including monthly meetings, May
Seminar and special events. This responsibility includes:
- Receiving RSVPs for
chapter events
- Creating a spreadsheet
of RSVPs and forwarding it to President, Treasurer and Secretary
- Contacting meeting
location contact with the number of attendees for the meeting/event
- Assist other board
members with duties as necessary.
- Greet meeting attendees
and assist Treasurer and Secretary with meeting registration as needed.
- Represent the Chapter in
the Human Resources community
- Participate in the
development and implementation of strategic short-term and long-term planning
for the chapter.
- Complete other
assignments as requested by the President or Chapter Board.
Requirements:
- Must be an SHRM member
in good standing elected by the chapter membership.
- Be elected from the
current year’s Chapter membership by its voting members no later than November
of each year.

- Coordinates RSVP process
for all chapter events.
- Attends six out of ten
general membership program meetings.
- Attends six out of ten
Board meetings.
- Contributes by assisting
other board members with duties as needed.
