MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR
Position Summary:
Manage the membership function to successfully
retain members and achieve an increase in chapter membership. Guide the
activities of the Ambassadors Committee.
Responsible To:
The members of the chapter
The Chapter President
Responsibilities:
- Obtain monthly lists of
new members and enter the new members into the chapter member database.
- Maintain current and
updated contact information for all current members.
- Direct and support the
activities of the members of the Ambassadors Committee, acting as a liaison
between the Board of Directors and this committee.
- Respond to requests for
information about membership through telephone calls, personal contacts, and
correspondence. Notify each applicant in writing of membership status.
- Coordinate renewal
efforts at year-end to maintain membership roles and memberships.
- Maintain supplies of
membership materials: applications, informational brochures, etc.
- Provide applications and
brochures for VSHRM and SHRM at all monthly meetings.
- Plan prospective member
events and activities.
- Obtain quarterly lists
of At-Large members (SHRM members who are not members of any chapter) in our
area from the SHRM Regional Team. Use those lists to invite At-Large members
to chapter events.
- Participate in the
development and implementation of strategic short-term and long-term planning
for the chapter.
- Represent the chapter in
the Human Resources community.
- Complete other
assignments as requested by the President or the Board of Directors
Requirements:
- Must have reliable email
and excel capabilities
- Strong organizational
skills needed
Position Objectives &
Metrics:
- Present recommendation
for status of all new applicants to Board each month.
- Attend a minimum of six
out of ten monthly membership
- Attend a minimum of six
out of ten Board of Director meetings.
- Provide an updated
membership list to Board of Directors each month.
