VSHRM sponsors activities each program year that support our local community as well as our HR Community.

Holiday Local Charity Event!

VSHRM Members will again be able to show their generosity at our annual Charity Event.  The local organization chosen for this year's event is Hidden Harvest.  The VSHRM Board is very pleased that we have this opportunity to give back to our local community, and appreciate the support shown by our members.  We collected canned goods at the November meeting, and we will be collecting canned goods and donating the breakfast leftovers from our December meeting.  Members who are not able to bring something will be able to make a donation at the meeting.

SHRM Foundation Activities!

The SHRM Foundation provides many research resources, sponsors scholarships for HR professionals to further educational and/or certification goals, and provides training resources to HR professionals.  Click here to go to the  SHRM Foundation website. 

VSHRM donated a basket for the silent auction at the MISHRM conference in September.  The theme was Spirit Hockey!  The winning bid was $75.  All of the proceeds from the auction are donated to the SHRM Foundation.

In addition to the MISHRM silent auction basket, our chapter also makes an annual donation to the SHRM Foundation.  In 2007 our chapter donated $500.  We also held a  50/50 raffle at our April 10th meeting which raised an additional $50.
